Welcome to the “Mom Boss” page, I am SO glad you are here! If you found your way to this page, chances are you are either a current mom boss looking to expand upon your skills and increase your profit margin, OR, you’ve always dreamed about becoming a mom boss and wanting to see if it is the right move for you.
First and foremost, let me congratulate you by taking the first step. As cliche as it may sound, you truly took such a huge step by being here. You decided that 1) you believe in yourself and 2) you are willing to put in the effort to make your dream a reality.
With that said, let me start by being raw with you. The journey to becoming a “Mom Boss” or “Mama-entrepreneur” (two terms you will see me using quite frequently and interchangeably) is not for the weak. Sure, I know that sounds a bit dramatic… but if you choose to believe only one piece of advice from me, allow this to be it. Becoming a “Mama-entrepreneur” takes time, a whole lot of time. It takes dedication, exhaustion, fear, investment, and confidence. It takes making yourself and your business a priority even when you’d rather not. It means getting up early and staying up late so that you can work when the kids finally sleep. It means your free-time is often turned into working time. It means risking time, investment, and heart… without the instant guarantee of success. That said, even with all the above in mind… I am here to tell you it is BEYOND worth it and endlessly rewarding.
To be your own boss, to teach your children about entrepreneurship in the process, to contribute financially to your family, and to make a very satisfying income while doing what you love… THAT is what makes it all worth it.
You may be wondering who am I to give away advice. In truth, I’ve often wondered that myself and still find myself occasionally struggling to feel worthy enough to be the one lending advice. Why? Because I didn’t always know what I do now and I certainly didn’t always bring in thousands of dollars a month working for myself and doing exactly what I love. In fact, I started like most of you. I had a hobby, several of them at that, and I always dreamed of them being profitable. Perhaps it was the 1,000 episodes of Shark Tank, or the constant motivation from incredibly supportive family and friends, but in 2016 I decided to take the plunge. I launched a blog, invested minimally, and dove in head first. Throughout the past years, I’m confident in saying I have read most every bit of informative literature, listened to almost every Podcast, worked with coaches, built entrepreneurial connections, started groups, initiated programs that failed and other ones that soared. There was a lot of trial and effort, a lot of tears, a lot of joy, and now… a lot of success.
I’ve always had a passion for helping others and new very quickly that when I found things that worked, I wanted to share them with all who would listen. With that said, I didn’t. Instead, I bit my tongue. Why? Because while learning the ropes myself, nothing irked me more than a new blogger or entrepreneur who jumped on their soapbox and spoke at expert level, yet had only been working at it for a month, or yet had the “success” to back their claims. Instead, I wanted to wait until I felt confidently that I could not only share my expertise, but that I could stand behind my testimonials and could back them up with results. I wanted to feel your stresses and teach you the solutions. I wanted to know what didn’t work before I could tell you would did.
So, here I am. I’m your average mom, dedicated to becoming your not-so-average “Mom Boss”. I turned my passion in to my profit and I can’t wait to help you do the same!
