Disclosure: I have partnered with Honest Company® to bring awareness to others within this post about their products. As ALWAYS, I only recommend products that I truly love, and all opinions included are 100% my own.
During this time at home, I’ve aimed to reevaluate the products in my life. I’ve switched out cleaning products, sought out cleaner air freshener substitutes, and switched around my laundry detergent. With that said, it likely would come as no surprise that evaluating my children’s body products would be on the top of the list.

My children love bath time, and to be fair, I do too. I love that at the end of a fun-filled day they can wash off the dirt and germs prior to heading into their cozy beds. I love washing their long locks filled with yogurt, paint, and sand–seeing their hair grow before my very eyes. And I really love that it is the perfect calming routine that leads to a goodnight’s rest.
.
However, in truth, bath time is only as “clean” as the products they use. That is why I decided to look into The Honest Company® and the shampoo and bath products they had to offer.

The Honest Company®
Many know The Honest Company® as the company co-founded by Jessica Alba. One that makes adorable diapers and has products with beautiful packaging. However, how much do you really know about the company? I for one knew very little until I started doing my research.
.
The Honest Company® is a trailblazer in not only baby and beauty products but in CLEAN products too. In addition, the company is rooted in the belief that all families should have access to basic necessities and the latest health information for safe growth and development.
.
I decided to look into their products and reviews, specifically for their “Truly Calming Shampoo + Body Wash”. I loved the lavender scent (knew my girls would too) and the calming vibes it would allow for pre-bedtime.

My 3 Requirements
Going in I had 3 requirements:
- I wanted it to be safe/clean regarding ingredients.
- I wanted it to hypoallergenic and sensitive on skin (as both my children are prone to reactions).
- I wanted it to not be drying (as some previous products have dried out their skin and hair tremendously. Especially during the long and cold winter months here in Wisconsin).
.
The Honest Company® and specifically the “Truly Calming Shampoo + Body Wash” checked all the boxes:
- It is formulated to be safe for the whole family, even babies. The naturally-derived oils and ingredients in each bottle span across sweet almond oil, aloe vera, coconut oil, and lavender oil.”
- It is hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, and even noted to be perfectly gentle on baby’s skin.
- It claimed to calm and cleanse hair and skin without over-drying. (This statement backed numerous times by customer reviews).

My Review
So, I decided to give it a try and am SO glad I did. The girls LOVE it and it is safe to say we are not going back! It has been gentle on their skin, wonderful for their long hair, and ideal for wrapping up the fun-filled days in a relaxing scent before bedtime. However, what I love most is that I now know I can feel good about the ingredients they are exposed to at bath time.
