Considering I have far more Christmas decorations than I do years of life, it likely comes as no surprise that my little girls would be just as excited about decorating for Christmas as I am.
So much so that we often designate a family day for the sole purpose of Christmas decorating.
Box by box, we unpack and decorate room after room. The kitchen, the family room, the sunroom, the foyer, the bathroom, even the basement. Yet, for some reason I failed to put much time and effort into the rooms my children spend more time in than any– their bedrooms… or in our case, “the girls’ rooms”.
This all changed this year when my girls came to me and asked to decorate their bedrooms… but in a very festive shade of (you guessed it)… pink!
The hunt was on to bring their vision to life and so we set out on a day filled with trips to our favorite locations for holiday decorations: Hobby Lobby, Target, and Walmart. In no time, our pink holiday girls rooms were complete with very little time and expense.
Hobby Lobby
Going in with a set theme- PINK… my girls wasted no time seeking out the color in the Christmas aisles. First and foremost they found this pink and white festive garland that we donned upon their headboards.
We also found beautifully sleek (and affordable) green Christmas trees that shimmered thanks to their large supply of glitter.
Target
Next stop was to the Target dollar section where we found beautifully crafted ceramic homes that lit up (I’ve yet to find a child that doesn’t love when things light up). With varied roofs painted in rose gold, gold, and silver… the assortment was beautiful. It also proved to be very popular. After securing a home for each girl, we decided to go back later for another. This time; however, they were completely gone!! (Note to self: when you find a deal in the Target dollar section, act fast!)
We then searched the holiday display and found a beautifully pink ballerina ornament that spoke to their love for dance, but also resonated with their sweet, young ages… perfect for a little girl’s room. We also found small, but delicate cream colored stockings– the perfect neutral accent.
Walmart
Our last stop was to Walmart. After catching glimpses of a 4 foot, sleek and shimmery gold Christmas tree on social media I was on the hunt for not one, but two. Unfortunately, our hunt came up short and while we found similar styles, they just weren’t speaking to me quite the same way. Then, as if we were absolutely destined to walk down a back aisle, we stumbled upon a selection of tabletop PINK Christmas trees. The girls were instantly in awe and I certainly couldn’t bring myself to deny them. Furthermore, the cost was far more reasonable and far less maintenance than the original 4 foot Christmas tree I had originally envisioned. Small pink Christmas trees were absolutely perfect for a little girls room.
Printables
Last but not least to complete our very pink and girly Christmas rooms, we were on the search for art. Keeping our eyes open at all previous locations, we came up short. It was then that I decided to create my own. Not only was the process of creating DIY Christmas printables fun and super affordable… but they allowed me to customize exactly what I wanted for their individual rooms- pink, pink, and more pink.
After some quick design work, I opted to print at a local copy shop on heavy cardstock paper. I then ran back to Walmart and secured some very inexpensive white frames to finish off the look.

The Final Reveal
Together, the girls and I came home and got to work on their Christmas girl’s rooms. Hanging garland, framing printables, and filling in with memorable Christmas trinkets (like snow globes from years past). Each room took only minutes to put together and the final product was a pink and festive, Christmas wonderland! girls room
The only thing I love more than the smiles on their faces, is the fact that each room was super affordable, allowing for updates and renovations as the years come and their styles change.
