Let’s face it. As a busy mom, our needs often take a backseat. There is mealtime prep x3, endless snack requests, daycare/school drop-off and pick-up, cleaning, shopping, potty training, doctor’s appointments, extra-curricular events, bath time, story time, bedtimes, our work outside or inside the home, paying bills, doing laundry, and house maintenance… to only name a few of the things we tackle each and every day. With that said, often times bathroom breaks are our sole alone time throughout the day (and if you have a toddler… you can pretty much forget about those too).
Disclosure: I partnered with Trophy Skin and RejuvaliteMD to bring awareness to others within this post. As ALWAYS, I only recommend products that I truly love and all opinions included are 100% my own.
A busy mom’s revelation.
Amongst our jam-packed daily schedule as a busy mom, we may happen to glance into the mirror. Perhaps a bit horrified by our reflection we can’t help but to wonder, “When was the last time I washed my hair? Are those new wrinkles? When did I get gray hair? Why do I look so tired? Could those bags under my eyes get any larger? Oh how nice of that new zit to show up.”
Sure, we try our hardest to implement positive self-talk, but just as any sleep-deprived/over-worked mom can tell us, that positive self-talk isn’t always the easiest of tasks.
Being a mom, as wonderful as it is, is hard. And despite counting our blessings to have been given the privilege to be called “mom”, we are WELL within our right to long for the days when we had the time (and let’s face it, energy) to pamper ourselves and our skin just a little.
This was me.
Soon after having our second child I turned 29. I don’t know if it was the soon-to-be decade change, or the sleep deprivation of having two under two years old, but one day after looking in the mirror I needed to do a double take. As much as I tried to fill my head with excuses (and let’s be fair, I had plenty as a busy mom. I was getting very minimal sleep, had just gone through childbirth, was potty training my 1 year old, was nursing around the clock, etc.) I just couldn’t recognize the person looking back at me.
My skin looked so very aged, wrinkles were popping up in places I had never seen them before, hormonal acne was in full effect, and don’t even get me started on my unwashed hair.
So, during one of my (what seemed like never-ending) nursing sessions, I took out my phone and began reading how to best address my skin. Increase water intake… check. Increase amount of sleep… laughable to any new mother. Wash your face religiously… check (not that there was time to put any makeup on to begin with). Add a moisturizer… check. Start getting routine spa treatments… I wish, but definitely no time for that.
With this advice I continued on until the decade change became official and I turned 30. While the recommendations above noted some improvements and I was beginning to find the time to apply makeup again when going out (oh foundation, how I love you!)… there was still no denying my lack of luster and wrinkles. I was stumped about what there was left to do. My water intake was on point, my youngster was finally sleeping through the night, and I was religiously washing and moisturizing my face. The only thing left to try, routine spa treatments, seemed unrealistic and unattainable as there was no way I was going to find the time or ability to secure childcare in order to go to spa for weekly treatments.
My solution.
Now, if there was the ability to receive these spa treatments in the comfort of my home, on my own schedule (which is variable each day), and without me needing to find childcare for my children, then I would have jumped on it. However, this scenario definitely felt unrealistic for a busy mom. Little did I know at the time, this was actually far more a reality than I had thought.
A few months later I learned about Trophy Skin and a product called RejuvaliteMD. This device featured LED technology to distribute a light over your skin in order to “stimulate collagen production and help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage on your face and neck.”
After a little more research, I learned that the treatment session took only 5 minutes and could be carried out in the privacy of my home, effectively hitting my most important checkboxes… quick and not requiring me to find childcare… ideal for a busy mom.
Additionally, reviews showed people seeing improvement in 7-12 weeks for anti-aging effects. While the results were not instantaneous (yet honestly if they were, I’d be a bit concerned about the intensity) as light therapy works from the inside out, I figured I had spent years trying to improve the appearance of my skin so far… what was a few weeks longer?
So, I took the leap and secured my very own RejuvaliteMD.
Wanting to follow the directions as closely as possible, I wanted my face to be clean of any product and decided it best to have my treatment sessions at the end of the day after washing my face. Night after night, once the kiddos were in bed and my face was effectively washed, I would take out my RejuvaliteMD and begin my treatment. While RejuvaliteMD can be utilized in either the sitting or lying position, I decided to opt for comfort. Throwing down a pillow on the ground or setting it up on my nightstand and laying in bed, I plugged in the device, threw on my goggles, and relaxed. On MULTIPLE instances I even fell asleep!
My Findings/Results
It has now been 5 weeks since the start of my treatment sessions with RejuvaliteMD (completing treatments 6-7 days a week) and these are my findings.
- The treatments are super quick (just 5 minutes) and I don’t scramble to find time in my day to achieve this. Busy mom win!
- I can complete the treatments at any time of the day, so finding childcare isn’t a concern.
- I LOVE the treatment time as an awesome mini mental break. As I stated earlier, finding alone time or really any free time is rare as a mom. By using this treatment daily, I was forced to lay down and relax. This allowed me to clear my head so effectively.
- The warm light resembled the feel of being out in the sun. Not in the sense of a sunburn by any means, but to the overall lift in mood that can accompany enjoying a nice sunny day outdoors.
- The first couple of days my skin felt a bit dryer than normal (this can be expected per instructions) and I just made sure to apply additional moisturizer.
- At the end of the first week I felt like my skin was glowing more. I was even receiving compliments by the end of the second week!
- I felt like my overall skin tone was more even and less blotchy by the end of week 2, with a noticeable decrease in the size of my pores as well.
- My acne was far less prominent by the end of week 3.
- I am requiring less foundation throughout the day in order to achieve the appearance of even skin tone.
- While I have not yet reached the anti-aging benefit timeline (7-12 weeks), I truly feel my crow’s feet lines and accompanying wrinkles on my face appear to have softened.

While I am most eager to continue my treatment sessions with RejuvaliteMD and see the final results on my face and neck (I’ll be sure to update here at the end of week 12), I am also most excited about the additional benefits of the device. With claims to help with anti-aging benefits on both your hands and stretch marks as well, I will certainly be tackling these next.
